frequently asked Questions

With the corona antigen rapid test, a throat swab or anterior nasal swab is taken. An antigen test detects proteins (protein fragments) that are specific for this virus. A major advantage of the corona antigen rapid test is the quick result, which is available 15-30 minutes after the sample has been taken.

The corona antigen rapid test we use is on the list of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices for antigen tests for direct pathogen detection of the corona virus.

The antigen test can determine how contagious someone is right now, even if they are not experiencing any symptoms. In people with a high viral load, the antigen tests are relatively reliably positive, so the test result can help indicate whether a person is infectious (contagious) or not at the time of the test. Those who carry the virus but cannot yet transmit it will usually get a negative result.

The test cannot guarantee 100 percent security. The rapid antigen test is a snapshot. Testing does not release you from compliance with the AHA + L rule and necessary hygiene precautions.

If the test result is positive, we will first contact you by phone (it is therefore essential to provide a current mobile number, if possible), and only inform you by email if you cannot be reached. Only then do we send the digital test result. This process then takes longer than 15-30 minutes. Your data will be forwarded immediately to the health department responsible for you (legal requirement in accordance with the Infection Protection Act §6) and you must immediately go into domestic isolation. A PCR confirmation test is also required. If PCR testing is not yet available in our test center, please contact your family doctor.

In very rare cases it can happen that the corona rapid test does not provide a valid result. In this case you will be informed immediately and you can repeat the test directly and free of charge.

The corona antigen rapid test can be booked by yourself from the age of 18. Parents can also book a test for their underage children. If you are under 14 years of age, the test may only be taken when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Young people from the age of 14 can also book the corona antigen rapid test if they can present a declaration of consent from their legal guardian.

We generally only test children from the age of four and only with the child’s consent.

If you book your rapid antigen test with us, you agree to bear the costs yourself with the booking. Whether you will be reimbursed for the cost of the rapid antigen test will vary from case to case and is constantly changing. To do this, please contact your health insurance company or your employer. We will send you an invoice on request.

About 15-30 minutes after your test you will receive your test result in digital form, in both German and English.

If you have not received a digital test result after 30 minutes.

A missing digital test result can have the following reasons:

  • the email address given when registering was incorrect,
  • the test result is positive or invalid and the doctor calls the phone number given when registering,
  • there was a technical problem
  • the email ended up in the spam folder.

About 2-3 weeks after a vaccination or infection, the body produces so-called IgG antibodies. These provide medium to long-term protection against a severe course of a future Covid-19 disease and then, according to current knowledge, remain in the body for at least 3-6 months.

In the case of our antibody test, we specifically test for neutralizing IgG antibodies that are directed against the spike protein (S1). Detected antibodies against the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 can be formed after infection and after vaccination. The measured value of the neutralizing antibodies measured in the blood allows only a limited or orienting assessment of a protective effect against (further) SARS-CoV-2 infections. It is currently not possible to make a reliable statement about the duration of immunity, as there are currently no reliable limit values that either guarantee or exclude adequate immune protection. The detection of neutralizing antibodies is therefore not a reliable protection against (re) infection. The protective effect of neutralizing antibodies against newly emerging virus variants can be limited. In rare cases, false positive results can occur.
